What Bacchus does
Three cellars in one app: wine, beer, and spirits. Enable only the ones you care about and the others stay hidden.
Scan a label
Point the camera at a bottle. The app reads producer, vintage, region, style, and ABV, then pre-fills the entry form for you to confirm. Results depend on what's on the label and the quality of the photo, so always check what's been filled in before saving.
Know what's ready
Suggested drink windows for wines and aging beers. A 100-point rating scale. For spirits, a Sealed → Open → Done lifecycle instead of per-pour logging. Tasting notes, photos, and consumption history stay attached to the bottle.
Find anything
Search and filter by country, varietal, style, category, or list. Sort by vintage, rating, date added, or price. Group bottles into custom lists with icons and colours.
Private by default
Inventory lives in the iOS app sandbox on your device. There is no Bacchus server that receives your cellar. Optional iCloud sync between your own Apple devices uses Apple's private CloudKit database, which IDENTIDEM does not have access to.
Optional cloud recognition
Label scanning runs on-device by default. For more accurate extraction, including richer metadata, there is an optional cloud path. It is off until you turn it on and confirm an in-app consent screen.
App Lock
Face ID or Touch ID lock with a privacy overlay that hides your collection in the iOS App Switcher.
Pricing
Bacchus is a free download on the App Store. All three cellars, label scan, drink windows, lists, iCloud sync, App Lock, and on-device recognition work without any purchase.
Bacchus Pro (optional)
Pro routes label recognition through our cloud relay so you do not need to supply an AI API key. Scans use a multimodal model with web-search enrichment for richer results.

Subscription auto-renews until cancelled in iOS Settings › Apple ID › Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Previously purchased subscriptions can be restored on a new device via Settings › AI Recognition › Restore Purchases inside the app.
Use is governed by Apple's standard End User License Agreement and the Bacchus Privacy Policy.
Bring Your Own Key (no subscription)
Prefer your own Anthropic or OpenAI API key? Paste it in Settings and consent to the third-party processor. No Pro subscription required.
Privacy
By default, no Bacchus data leaves your device. Cloud label recognition, iCloud sync, and collection sharing are each opt-in with their own in-app consent screen.
